Ethereum's Layer 2 scaling solutions collectively processed over 15 million transactions in a single day, shattering previous records and demonstrating the network's growing capacity to handle mainstream adoption. Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base accounted for roughly 80% of the volume.

The milestone comes as gas fees on Layer 2 networks have dropped below one cent per transaction, making Ethereum-based applications cost-competitive with traditional payment rails. Developers report that user onboarding has accelerated significantly as a result.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin praised the progress but emphasized that further improvements to data availability and cross-rollup interoperability remain critical priorities for the ecosystem.
